I spent over 20 years in professional kitchens before I ever touched a line of code. Restaurant work teaches you one thing fast — every dollar matters, every minute matters, and nobody is coming to save you if things go sideways.
When I moved into tech sales, I got a look at the other side. I was selling enterprise software to businesses of all sizes, and I watched the same thing happen over and over: a regional business with a real problem and a reasonable budget would come in, and the answer was always a six-figure contract for work that should have taken a week. The big vendors weren't interested in anything they couldn't turn into a landmark deal. Small and mid-size businesses were an afterthought.
I started Agilis because I knew what those businesses actually needed wasn't that complicated — and I knew how to build it. Same infrastructure the big companies run on, without the enterprise price tag or the enterprise runaround. Real person, real work, built right.
